We are entering a new phase of growth at Certinia. As we continue to empower organizations to deliver with certainty, we are strengthening our leadership team with operators who understand exactly how to scale enterprise value.
To that end, Certinia is appointing Prasad Narasimhan Sulur as our new Chief Business Officer, effective immediately.
Prasad is not new to the Certinia orbit. For years, he has served as a strategic architect for our business and our investors during his tenure at Bain & Company. He has been deeply involved in our due diligence, market positioning, and long-term planning. He knows our product, our customers, and our potential better than almost anyone outside the company. Now, he is stepping inside to help build it.
From Advisor to Builder
Prasad joins us after nearly two decades at Bain & Company, where he was a senior leader in their Software, Cloud, and Services practices. He has led over 350 projects working with software companies, services companies, and IT organizations on topics including strategy, growth, AI, M&A, go-to-market (GTM), pricing, and product. He is one of the key authors of Bain’s software playbook, services value creation, and AI impacts on software and services. Prior to Bain, he worked for a number of years in software development, product management, and implementations.
His move to Certinia as Chief Business Officer signals a shift in focus: execution.
Prasad’s mandate is to turn strategic opportunity into operational reality. He will oversee corporate development, potential strategic acquisitions, and high-impact growth initiatives. While he will naturally steer our long-term strategy, this is an active, outcome-oriented position. Prasad will work intimately with me, and the full executive leadership team, to ensure that our vision translates directly into business performance.
Why Now
Services-led organizations are undergoing major digital transformations. As our customers navigate the complexities of AI, data-driven certainty, and recurring services models, Certinia will move faster and smarter.
Prasad’s arrival allows us to hone in four key areas:
- Sharpen our Corporate Development: We are looking at the bigger picture of where Certinia fits in the software ecosystem and aggressively pursuing those opportunities.
- Accelerate Value Creation and Growth: Prasad moves from recommending the path to driving the car. He brings an operator’s mindset to our growth initiatives.
- Commercialize our AI Strategy: As we roll out new AI agents, Prasad will lead the strategy on how we package, price, and bring these innovations to market to maximize value for our customers.
- Unify Growth & Execution: He will act as the connective tissue between our long term vision and the work required to get there, complementing our existing operations leadership.
Working with Prasad for the last few years, I’ve seen firsthand his intellect and grasp of the software market. But what excites me most is his drive to build. He is passionate to execute on our vision and opportunity. Having someone with his historical context of Certinia hit the ground running is a massive advantage for us in FY27.
About Prasad
Before his tenure at Bain, Prasad held roles in software development and product management at i2 Technologies (now part of Blue Yonder), giving him a foundational understanding of the software lifecycle. He holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he graduated with distinction and was an Edward Tuck Scholar. Prasad also holds a master’s degree in systems engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Outside of the office, he is an avid sports enthusiast with an interest in many activities including biking, racquet sports, and golf.
"I’ve spent more than two decades advising companies on how to grow. I chose to come to Certinia because I believe the opportunity here is unique, and I wanted to be part of the team responsible for delivering on it. I’m eager to leverage my experience as an advisor to work on the actual business of capturing the opportunity and scaling this company." — Prasad Narasimhan Sulur, Chief Business Officer at Certinia
